Maya Aderka

M.Sc. Student, Department of Physiology, McGill.
B.Sc. in Psychology and Computer Science with an emphasis on Neuroscience, Tel Aviv University, Tel Aviv, Israel.
During my B.Sc, I worked as a research assistant in Prof. Nitzan Censor lab, which studies memory and learning. I assisted in conducting behavioral studies, as well as studies involving EEG, fMRI and TMS.
In the final year of my B.Sc, I joined Prof. Yuval Nir’s sleep lab to help with an initiative to create SleepEEGpy, a platform to pre-process and analyse sleep EEG data.
Alex Zhao

B. Sc student, Neuroscience program, McGill
My research interests lie in computational neuroscience, as I believe that computational models have the power to capture the brain’s inner workings. In my free time I enjoy reading and solo traveling.
Jacky Chen

B.A. in Psychology with double minors in Behavioral Science and Science for Art Students, McGill
As someone who enjoys playing the piano, I am curious to explore the ways cognitive processes impact musical expression and attentional shifts. My research interests lie at the intersection of psychology, music, and cognitive science.
I was born in Shanghai, China, where I spent the first 18 years of my life. After completing high school, I relocated to Montreal to pursue my studies at McGill University. I really enjoy the lovely summer in Montreal!
Manuel Hanna

B.Eng. Student, Software Engineering (major) and Biomedical Engineering (minor), McGill.
As a Software Engineering student I started my minor in Biomedical Engineering last year with the goal of studying neural systems. I’m interested in using computational modeling to help improve understanding of processes such as attention and motor learning.
I enjoy playing soccer in my free time.
Eva Ozturk

Graduate research trainee (McGill), Master student, Biomedical Engineering - Neurotechnology, Université Paris Cité / Arts et Métiers.
I have a double degree in Biomedical sciences and Psychology from Université Paris Cité, and I did an Erasmus at Imperial College London and internships at ENS (Paris) and EPFL (Geneva).
I am interested in developing tools at the interface between engineering and neuroscience, such as BCI or neuroprosthetics. I aim to translate neuroscientific knowledge into clinically relevant technologies
Sophie Yun

B.Sc. Pharmacology, McGill University
I am interested in neuroscience, pharmacology, and human physiology, both on their own and how they connect. I love learning about how compounds that we consume and are exposed to in everyday life affect the body and brain, and how different systems like vestibular, visual, olfactory, and auditory all work together mechanistically and how that translates physically/behaviourally. I’m especially drawn to understanding how these areas overlap and influence each other in a medical context.
Wayne Wu

B.Sc. Neuroscience student, McGill University.
I’m interested in computational neuroscience, particularly in understanding how processes such as vision, attention, and eye movements arise from underlying structure and mechanisms. More broadly, I’m curious about how mathematical and computational ideas can be used to make sense of brain–behavior relationships.
Outside of school, I enjoy singing and songwriting.
Xueqing Zhai

Non-thesis M.Sc. student, Computer Science, McGill.
I completed my B.Sc. Honours in Computer Science at the University of Toronto, with a focus in Machine Learning and Game Design. I am interested in applying machine learning techniques to real-world problems, and in exploring practical frameworks such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and model integration approaches.
I play video games and do digital painting in my free time.
