M.Sc. Student, Department of Physiology, McGill.
B.Sc. in Biology and Computer Science, McGill.
Between musical theater, computer science and the brain - I wasn’t able to chose so I will focus on one of their intersections: the study of audiovisual space and object perception.
I was born and raised in Belgium. However half of my family lives in Israel and I have spent most of my summers there. Today, the place I truly call home is definitely Montreal.

Maya Aderka
M.Sc. Student, Department of Physiology, McGill.
B.Sc. in Psychology and Computer Science with an emphasis on Neuroscience, Tel Aviv University, Tel Aviv, Israel.
During mt B.Sc, I worked as a research assistant in Prof. Nitzan Censor lab, which studies memory and learning. I assisted in conducting behavioral studies, as well as studies involving EEG, fMRI and TMS.
In the final year of my B.Sc, I joined Prof. Yuval Nir’s sleep lab to help with an initiative to create SleepEEGpy, a platform to pre-process and analyse sleep EEG data.
Jacky Chen
B.A. in Psychology with double minors in Behavioral Science and Science for Art Students, McGill
As someone who enjoys playing the piano, I am curious to explore the ways cognitive processes impact musical expression and attentional shifts. My research interests lie at the intersection of psychology, music, and cognitive science.
I was born in Shanghai, China, where I spent the first 18 years of my life. After completing high school, I relocated to Montreal to pursue my studies at McGill University. I really enjoy the lovely summer in Montreal!
Alex Zhao
B. Sc student, Neuroscience program, McGill
My research interests lie in computational neuroscience, as I believe that computational models have the power to capture the brain’s inner workings. In my free time I enjoy reading and solo traveling.
Evan Jiang
B. Sc student, Major Computer Science and Biology, Mcgill
I initially started in the life science program but developed a strong interest in programming, which led me to combine these interests by switching to a major in computer science and biology. My research interests now lie in computational biology, with a particular focus on neurology.
Isidore Victorri
B.Sc. Student in Physiology and Physics, McGill.
With a bachelor’s program focused on research, I’m eager to dive into the field of auditory attention.
Originally from Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, a small French overseas territory, now experiencing life in a big city for the first time while studying in Montréal.
Sabrina Du
B. Sc. Student, Honours Neuroscience, McGill.
Born and raised in Montreal, I grew up alongside this city’s rise as an AI hub and developed a keen interest in brain-inspired computational architectures.
How does short-term perceptual memory guide decisions? Can we replicate this memory system in artificial networks? These questions (and more) are ones I am excited to explore.
In my free time, you can find me listening to a podcast, hiking, or attempting to sew.
Anna Rose Hunt-Isaak
BASc Honors Cognitive Science, McGill
I’m interested in exploring the intersection of neuroscience and computer science, especially with regards to how we can computationally model cognitive processing and develop a better understanding of how neural activity mediates observable behaviors.
My hobbies include baking, reading George Saunders, and layering poorly for winter runs
Yiqing Zhu
Non-thesis M.Sc student, Computer Science, McGill.
I have graduated from McGill University with a B.Sc. Honours in Computer Science and a minor in Statistics. During my undergraduate studies, I conducted interdisciplinary research at the intersection of biology, neuroscience, and computation. I’m now pursuing graduate studies with a focus on ML, AI, and the contribution of large language models to data research.
Kevin (Yuze) Liu
MSc,BSc - data science, statistics and CS, McGill.
I recently graduated from McGill University with a Master’s in Information Studies (Data Science) and a Bachelor’s in Statistics with a minor in Computer Science. My academic and research experience spans machine learning, NLP, and ethical AI applications. Currently, I am interested in exploring how large language models (LLMs) can be applied to real-world data challenges, especially in multilingual, dynamic, or multimodal environments. My goal is to develop research that bridges theoretical advances in LLMs with practical, high-impact use cases.
Edward Tong
B. Eng. Student in Bioengineering, McGill.
Bioengineering courses often focus on design like tissue engineering or microfluidic devices. However, my interests was peaked during a signal analysis class (BIEN462), learning about the diagnostic abilities of ECGs. I look forward to analyses other signals such as EEGs. In my spare time, I enjoy listening to music and playing videogames.
Youyou Yang
Master’s student in Computer Science (non-thesis), McGill. I completed a B.Sc. in Physics and Computer Science at McGill. I hold a quiet obsession with Dr. Wilder Penfield and I am currently exploring research in brain-inspired AI.
Lihong Chen
M.Eng. in Artificial Intelligence, Western University. B.Eng. in Software Engineering, East China Normal University, Shanghai, China.
Currently exploring visual attention and how semantic information guides perception and behavior. Previously worked on visual perception and multimodal reasoning in autonomous systems. I am broadly interested in the interaction between visual and language information in task-driven behavior, and in how computational models can help us understand and replicate these processes.
